Regulations

1. Eligibility & Participation:
1.1 Each federation may nominate only one player in each category. The Players who are entitled to participate should not reached their relevant age as on 1st January 2003. ( See 9.1 )
1.2 In additional to 1.1, each federation may send any number of extra players to participate in any category if they fulfill the above condition and be responsible for their own board and lodging.

3. Pairing
The Swiss 46 Program shall be used for Championships conducted in 9 Rounds. In the last 2 rounds, players from the same federation and who have more than 50% shall not be paired together.
4. Time Control
The time control shall be 90 minutes with 30 seconds increment after each move starting from the first move.
5. Individual Medals
Medals will be awarded to the top three position in each category.
6. Team Medals
Team medals ( gold, silver, bronze ) will also be awarded in each category. For each federation, the scores of only the BEST 3 RESULTS will be added.
7. Appeals Committee
The Appeals Committee will be decided during the technical meeting.
8. Entry Fee
Official Players  - US$ 50.00
Extra Players     - US$ 80.00
9. Board & Lodging
9.1 The Organisers shall provide free board and lodging ( 3 meals a day on twin sharing basis ) to players as stated in 1.1 and one official per Federation. Those who prefer to stay in the hotel rooms shall be charges as per 9.3.
9.2 The Playing Venue is at Orchid Garden Hotel, Berakas. The official accommodation will be at Game Village, Berakas.   Twin and quadruple rooms (hostel type ) have been made available. All rooms are provided with pillow, bed sheets and blankets. Participants are advised to bring their own towel, slipper, soap, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste. All rooms are air conditioned and all are equipped with ceiling fan. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will however be provided at the Orchid Garden Hotel.
Alternate accommodation at nearby hotel can be arranged at a cost as per 9.3.
only accredited players, officials and accompanying persons living in the official accommodation and alternate hotel shall have the privilege to enter the Playing Hall to view the games. There is no guarantee that rooms are available after the closing date. In this aspect, we urge federations to register as soon as possible.
9.3 Accommodation rate ay Orchid Garden Hotel including 3 meals / day are as follows :
Single Room - US$ 65.00 per person per day
Double / Twin - US$ 45.00 per person per day
Triple Sharing - US$ 40.00 per person per day
Accommodation rate at Game Village including 3 meals / day are as follows :
US$ 35.00 per person per day base sharing basis.
Important note :
The accommodation at Game Village do not allow the opposite sex participants, official as well as the accompanying person to stay in the same room and block. However children under the age of 10 will be able to stay either of their parents.
10. Transportation
The charge for Airport Transfer and Muara Terminal Transfer ( both-way ) is US$ 20.00
11. Entry Visas
Participants must get their visas at Brunei Embassy in their respective countries.
12. Payments
All payments shall be made payable to Brunei Chess Federation and credited to Hongkong and Shanhai Banking Corporation Limited, Kuala Belait Branch account number 002-076222001 before 30th November 2003.
13. Registeration of Participants and Accompanying Persons The deadline for registeration is 30th November 2003. Late Registeration shall be subjected to a penalty fee of US$ 50.00 per person. Players who are absent at the Technical Meeting shall be excluded from the Championships. For every players, official or accompanying person who registered but not turn up, a penalty of US$ 20.00 shall be imposed on the federation.
