Workshop On Working With The Media

We would like to invite all trainees in our Federation’s Youth Squads – Gold, Silver and FIDE Rated to attend a complimentary workshop entitled “ Working with the Media for Athletes “.

The 2 hour workshop hosted by the Singapore Sports Council will equip our athletes with the requisite knowledge and skills to prepare and handle media effectively. More importantly, it would help our athletes to leverage on media opportunities to project a positive image of their team, their sport, Singapore and especially themselves.

The facilitator is a leading media professional, Mr Robert Conceicao who has over 20 years of experience in media and sports. He has also trained Team Singapore athletes previously.

Although this workshop may be centred on the Media, it would definitely help our athletes project themselves better either in their career or school environment. Please do not miss this opportunity to POWER UP yourselves with this media management and life-skill. Interested, kindly indicate your interest by emailing the Executive Director at singchess@pacific.net.sg by 14 November 2009.

This is the first of one of our many initiatives to help our athletes and their parents to better equip themselves with core management and life-style skills, not only to advance their chess excellence but personal development and well being as well. We are confident these will have a positive influence on our young athletes to aspire them to be better sportsmen and citizenry.
