17.11.2009 – Postponement - Inter-Constituency (Individual) Chess Championships
We regret that due to poor take up rate for this new event, due largely to a number of reasons,
the event will now be rescheduled to Sunday 24 January 2010 commencing at 9.00 am.
Venue remained unchanged at the Ang Mo Kio Secondary School. Entry Fees remained
unchanged as well.
Participants who wish to withdraw from this event may contact events@singaporechess.org.sg
with regards to refunds.
In response to popular requests we will amend the competition to 7 rounds rapid championships
using Swiss Manager with 25 minutes for each player. All other rules and regulations remained unchanged.
We regret and aoplogise for the inconveniences caused to our members and participants.
30th October 2009
We received numerous enquiries with regards to this Inaugural Inter-Constituency Chess Championships 2009. Many participants thought that this is a team event and that they have to be a member of a constituency sports club or community club before they are allowed to play. Participants do not have to be a member of any community clubs or grassroots organizations.
We wish to advise that this is an individual event like most of our other chess competitions. The objective is to help all our chess players identify with the constituencies they lived in. Maybe a year or two later we could start another Inter-Constituency Team Championship.
This is a fun, community and family bonding event. We trust we have clarified some of your doubts and do write to us if you need further clarifications at our email: singchess@pacific.net.sg
