Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:
1. The 1st ASEAN International Youth Chess Championships (6-12 August 2012) are a SCF National Junior Squad (Development) and a SCF National Youth Squad (Gold) qualifying event. All qualifying will be eligible for National Chess Training registration in subsequent 4 terms, following which re-qualification is required.
2. The 1st ASEAN International Youth Chess Championships (6-12 August 2012) is open for registration to all chess players, eligible by age. Please register early. Early registration benefits all.

3R excerpts:
Time Control and Format: Swiss System; FIDE-rated and titled; Rate of play will be 40 moves in 2 hours followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, all without time increment. Zero-Start shall be applied.
Prize Fund: S$44,000
Open Category (Under-8, Under-11, Under-14 & Under-17 as at 1.1.2012) (S$26,000):
1st S$1500; 2nd S$1000; 3rd S$800; 4th S$600; 5th S$400; 6th & 7th S$300 each; 8th to 15th S$200 each
Girls Category (Under-8, Under-11, Under-14 & Under-17 as at 1.1.2012) (S$18,000):
1st S$1000; 2nd S$800; 3rd S$600; 4th S$500; 5th S$400; 6th & 7th S$300 each; 8th to 10th S$200 each
The SCF reserves the right to merge categories which have less than 10 players and re-structure the prize fund of the category.
Entry Fees: S$250 All players (Discount of 40% for all SCF National Squads Term-2/2012 members with minimum 75% attendance)
Early registration benefits: After 15th June 2012, a late surcharge of S$50 will be imposed for late entry, subject to SCF’s acceptance.

Shuttle Bus service will be provided from the Cherry Loft Hotel to the Playing Venue (Morning) & from Playing Venue to the Hotel (Evening).

7th August: Round 1 – 1600 hour
8th August: Round 2 – 1600 hour
9th August: Round 3 – 0900 hour; Round 4 – 1600 hour
10th August: Round 5 – 0900 hour; Round 6 – 1600 hour
11th August: Round 7 – 0900 hour; Round 8 – 1600 hour
