Term 2/2010 – Registration Form
The SCF Training Committee continues to monitor our National Junior Squad (Development)
Training Programmes to ensure that we optimize the time available so that our trainees enjoys
the benefit of structured and formalized trainings and that the trainings continue to be effective.
We acknowledge the positive feedback from our trainees and their parents and we have decided
that we will increase the training schedule with effect from Term 2 -2010, from the current
3.5 hours to 5.0 hours a week. We are also looking at incorporating Junior Squad residential
training camps. This will be the subject of future announcements in due course.
From Term 2 – 2010, there will be a separate 2 hours Weekday Session on top of the 3 hours
Training Games on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The schedule for training games remains
unchanged, with the sessions now ending after 3 hours of guided practice.
The 2 hours Weekday Theory sessions will take place from Mondays to Fridays each week.
Trainees may choose from 2 sessions – (a) from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm and (b) from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm.
Theory sessions on Thursdays and Fridays have been ammended to start 8 pm and end 10pm.
The Weekend (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) Training Games shall comprise of 1.0 hour (per player)
Standard Chess and another 25 minutes (per player) for Rapid Chess.
All other details of our current training requirements remain unchanged.
